Review - TT Combat - Bus Stops

So continuing my plan to review all of the terrain i buy this is the next set.

Its the TT Combat bus stop set. Nice and cheap and very easy to assemble.

It comes with a large clear perspex back wall for the glass, which means it can be seen through, which i think adds a lot to it.

Assembly:

Assembly was super easy, the only challenge was that i was not able to get the perspex flush in, but its not the end of the world. I did not glue on the back wall pieces to the perspex to make painting easier and i should have left off the top cardboard and the sides as well, which would have speeded things up. i tend to rush ahead to get things assembled so i am now planning for future kits to look how i want to paint them as i assemble and do sub assemblies.

I also used Painters tape (Tamiya i thin) to cover the perspex so it got no paint on it, and it worked great and nothing seeped through.

You can see from the pic below that i glued the middle bench braces to a bit of MDF to make them easier to paint.

the only hassle was that the bustop seat does not go back in super easy if you have glued in the side walls. so you need to be careful as you bend it to fit. the first one got crimped which sucks but added damage is not the worst thing in the world.

Painting:

I sprayed everything with Anthracite Grey as it was closest to hand. i then drybrushed the entire thing with Boiler black from P3 and then i added rust via a rusty orange, and then drybrushed silver.

the yellow is just an artist acrylic yellow ochre, inked brown wash, and then stippled a lighter yellow to make it look weathered.

the signs were done with a bone parchment colour and put on roughly to make it look like the paper had weathered.

i need to add some graffiti but its not something i do a lot, so i need to get motivated and probably do a bunch of buildings at once.

Summary:

a nice kit, instructions were not needed, and it was easy to assemble. the only thing you have to be aware of is making sure you dont mess up the perspex and deciding how you want to paint it before you add on the cardboard bits. so a bit of planning and you will be fine.

4.5/5 for me, a nice simple kit.
